Active Space Technologies was given the “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” award

The National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) honoured Active Space Technologies with the title Young Entrepreneur of the Year, in a ceremony held at Espinho’s Casino.

The 8th edition of the Young Entrepreneur Award acknowledged the strategy of Active Space Technologies and the work of its collaborators by a board of experienced entrepreneurs and decision makers. The prize differentiates the Business Plan put together by Active Space Technologies as the most innovative strategy over 150 contenders. On the other hand, it allows visibility in the national media, when the company exports 85% of its services and aims leveraging ideas in the national automotive and moulds sectors.

This prize allows Active Space Technologies to further strengthen the investment on human resources and spin-off products development strategy.

Ricardo Patrício, the company’s CTO, states “Active Space Technologies is an ambitious and dynamic project based on a twofold strategy: the relationship with the European Space Agency and space companies; strong team commitment and high value services that we provide in our business. This award is dedicated to all our collaborators.”
Bruno Carvalho, adds “We are proud of being selected among these high quality nominees. It is an honour to succeed the previous winners, whose national and international projection anticipate us a promising future that we wish to accomplish and exceed.”

Active Space Technologies operates over a broad range of the supply chain providing systems engineering approaches based on value creation, which is based on a dynamic innovation pipeline from our collaborators.
Reference customers are the European Space Agency, Galileo Avionica, JET/UKAEA, Critical Software, and EFACEC, among others. The company has its roots and heritage on the space sector, when the shareholders were working at the European Space Agency. Current projects in the space sector include, e.g., the Bepicolombo mission to planet Mercury, MIT’s Mars Gravity, and Galileo. The nuclear fusion segment is, however, gaining increasing significance in company activities, which is already participating in several projects with JET (UK) and ITER (France). Finally, Active Space Technologies aims activities expansion regarding the aeronautics and automotive sectors, and technology development for CERN.
