Mission
SSETI, promoted by the Education Office of the European Space Agency, is a pan-european satellite program developed by students. This program consists of 3 satellites: SSETI Express (60kg satellite launched into LEO in October 2005), ESEO (European Student Earth Orbiter), 120kg satellite due to be launched into GTO in 2008 by Ariane 5, and ESMO (European Student Moon Orbiter), a lunar mission forseen for 2010-2012. The SSETI spacecraft ESEO is a micro-satellite designed, built and operated as the first SSETI mission by the European students working in the network of participating universities. The satellite will take pictures on Earth orbit, measure radiation levels, and act as demonstrator for future technologies.

Case Study
Active Space Technologies is involved in SSETI by developing thermal analysis of the AOCS instrumentation such as the Reaction Wheel developed at Instituto Superior Técnico.
